Description
Lateral reconstruction of the crustacean, Canadaspis perfecta, from the Middle Cambrian Burgess Shale of British Columbia. One of the most common and completely-known animals in the Burgess Shale fauna, this shrimp-like crustacean had a series of segmented walking legs with attached gill flaps used both for swimming and for respiration. The length of the carapace ranged from 10 to 50 mm. in length.
