Description
A molecular model of fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 (FGFR2), a protein which plays an important role in embryonic development and tissue repair by mediating cell devision, growth and differentiation. Fibroblast growth factor 1 (orange) is bound at the junction between the two FGFR2 units (blue). Mutations in the FGFR2 gene are associated with a variety of medical conditions, many of which involve abnormal bone development and cancer.
