Description
Engraving of English physicist and chemist, Michael Faraday (1791 - 1867). Faraday is holding a glass bar which he used to show the action of magnetism on light. He is best known for his experiments on electricity, his work on the invention of the dynamo, the formation of his laws of electrolysis, and his work on electromagnetism. Working as a young man under Sir Humphrey Davy at the Royal Institution. Faraday discovered benzene as a result of chemical analyses done for Davy in 1825.
