Description
Bush or leaf katydids are common in the upper Amazon Basin's wet forests. This is an immature form or an instar. These insects, relatives of the common grasshopper, are famous for their camouflage. They mimic leaves with amazing details like "leaf veins" and moldy leaf holes. This bush cricket was encountered on a night hike along the Madre de Dios, Peru.
