Description
Anhinga (Anhinga anhinga). Anhinga are also known as the Snake-bird because of the neck and water turkey because of the tail. They have no oil gland to waterproof feathers. Anhinga will nest with herons and egrets, and often as a result steal their nests. They are not to be confused with a cormorant, which has a hooked bill. Everglades National Park, Florida.
