Description
Kilauea Volcano, Big Island, Hawaii. Molten lava sloshes and bubbles in a vent on Kilauea Volcano. Lava bubbles are mild, gas-driven explosions within an active vent. The explosions send shards of molten yellow and orange lava, called spatter flying in all directions and cause rippling waves to pass through the surrounding lava, which cracks the molten skin.
