Description
Parasites LM of the dog tapeworm, Echinococcus multilocularis. The body of the tapeworm consists of the head (at top right), and four sections. The large terminal section of the worm (lower left) contains eggs which are visible as white spheres. During the worm's lifecycle, the worm attaches itself to the host dog's intestinal wall using its head. It has a larval stage where it can form invasive cysts in the tissue of an intermediate host, such as rodents and humans.
