Human fleas (pulex irritans). An insect of the genus Pulex and the order Aphaniptera. Fleas have the ability to leap great heights despite its lack of wings. A flea bite is poisonous to most persons. While human fleas are abundant in Europe, they are rare in America, where the dog flea takes its place. SEM Magnification 130x.
