Description
HIPMap (high-throughput imaging position mapping) accurately determines the position of a gene in the three-dimensional (3D) space of the cell nucleus. Here, the positions of three genes (green, red, and blue spots) have been mapped inside the nuclei of HeLa cells. A HeLa cell is a cell of a continuously cultured strain isolated from a human uterine cervical carcinoma in 1951 and used in biomedical research especially to culture viruses. Created by Tom Misteli, Sigal Shachar, Murali Palangat, 2015.
