Description
Three-dimensional visualization reconstructed from scanned human data of the female skeletal system. The living skeleton bears the body's load and enables movement, while also storing minerals, protecting internal organs, and, in its spongy interiors, housing the main bloodworks. This flexible armature pivots along a central axis (the spine), which bends and turns and is attached to rings of bones (girdles) that connect it to the limbs. Arms and legs share the same fundamental structure of one long bone, two shorter bones, and a claw-like assembly of even smaller bones, all hinged by freely moveable joints.
