Description
Of all tarantulas, the Chilean Rose Hair (Grammostola gala) is the most docile and least likely to bite. They are easy to handle and very hardy making them extremely popular in the pet trade. It is a moderately large spider that grows to an average size of about five inches with legs extended. The Rose Hair is found in the deserts and scrublands of Bolivia, Northern Chile, and Argentina. Its diet consists primarily of insects but will occasionally prey on small animals such as infant mice.
