Description
Hydromedusa (Halicreatis sp.), found approximately 1,200 meters (3,935 feet) deep near “Keli’ihananui” Seamount in the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument. The ends of its tentacles are packed with nematocysts (stinging cells), which make them appear especially bright.
