Color enhanced transmission electron micrograph (TEM) of a human neutrophil cell. Neutrophils are involved in inflammatory responses to tissue damage, where they engulf and destroy microorganisms. Neutrophils are highly mobile and can squeeze through tiny spaces in an amoeboid manner.
