Color enhanced Transmission Electron Micrograph (TEM) of nucleus and adjacent rough endoplasmic reticulum. The rough appearance is due to the presence of ribonucleic acid (RNA) subunits known as ribosomes. Inside the nucleus there is a nucleolus. One mitochondrion is also present in the image. Magnification 5,000x @ 8 x10 inches.
