Description
The Astronomical clock was originally built in 1410.The clock portrays three individual sets of data; the revolutions of the sun,moon,and stars.The clock face is divided into red and blue halves representing night and day.It is believed to have been built by Hanus with his assistant Jakub Eech. During it's life it has undergone many changes and additions, including moving figures, many statues,and a calendar dial. It is located in the Old Town Square, on the side of the Old Town Hall.It is a tremendous tourist attraction. Hourly,the figures of the apostles parade across,' Death' in the form of a skeleton chimes the hour.Vanity, greed and lust are portrayed by sculpted figures.
