Artist's Description
A rare photograph of U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt in his wheelchair, taken at Top Cottage in Hyde Park, New York, by his cousin, Margaret "Daisy" Suckley, in February 1941. He is shown here with his dog Fala and and Ruthie Bie, the daughter of the estate's caretakers. Roosevelt contracted polio in 1921, when he was 39.
