Entrance door with flowers at the Albert Schweitzer memorial in the former home of the poet Carl August Musäus. Johann Karl August Musäus (March 29, 1735 - October 28, 1787) was a popular German author and one of the first collectors of German folk stories, most celebrated for his Volksmärchen der Deutschen (1782-86), a collection of German fairy tales retold as satires. Albert Schweitzer (January 14, 1875 - September 4, 1965) was a German (and later French) theologian, organist, philosopher, physician, and medical missionary in Africa, also known for his interpretive life of Jesus.
