Apollo and the Nine Muses, Gustave Moreau, 1856. Oil on canvas, part of a private collection. Apollo is one of the most important and complex of the Olympian deities in Greek and Roman mythology. The ideal of the kouros (a beardless, athletic youth), Apollo has been variously recognized as a god of light and the sun, truth and prophecy, healing, plague, music, poetry, and more. The Nine Muses of the Greek Mythology were deities that gave artists, philosophers and individuals the necessary inspiration for creation. 1) Clio discovered history and guitar. History was named Clio in the ancient years, because it refers to "kleos" the Greek word for the heroic acts. Clio was always represented with a clarion in the right arm and a book in the left hand. 2) Euterpe discovered several musical instruments, courses and dialectic.
