Artist's Description
This color enhanced image of a brain specimen was cut in the midsagital (from the side) plane. This allows excellent visualization of the cerebellar vermis (purple) which is that part of the cerebellum located in the midline and just to either side of the midline. There is mild atrophy of the vermis. The cerebellar hemisphere is a green gradient, the cerebellar tonsil is red, the medulla is olive, the basis pontis is bright yellow, the pontine tegmentum and fourth ventricle are blue, the midbrain is dark green. The quadrigeminal plate (tectum) is aqua.
