Description
The creosote bush (Larrea tridentata) has many adaptations for surviving in the Mojave Desert. One of these is a poison which it exudes from the roots to kill neighboring seedlings and prevent overcrowding and competition for the small amount of moisture available here in Death Valley National Park, California.
