Entitled "The daring ride of Mrs. Eunice (Winkless) Padfield" shows large crowd of spectators watching Padfield and horse diving from high tower. A diving horse was a popular attraction in which a horse would dive into a pool of water, sometimes from as high as 60 feet. In 1881 William "Doc" Carver was crossing a bridge over Platte River which partially collapsed. His horse allegedly fell/dived into the waters below, inspiring him to develop the diving horse act. Carver trained various animals and went on tour. Photographed by C. E. Holmboe, July 4, 1905.
