The male parts, the stamens, consist of anthers (bright yellow), which are covered in pollen, and supported on long filaments. The female parts, the carpels, are in the center of the flower (green). The dog rose is a common flower of hedges and scrubland, and flowers between June and July. (3rd of 5 images).
