Description
Dorsal view of mutant fruit fly Drosophila, with vestigial wings. The wings have failed to develop normally due to a genetic mutation, and they appear as twisted stumps on either side of the thorax (at centre). Normal Drosophila wings extend well over the abdomen and enable the insect to fly.
