The General Grant tree is the largest giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) in the General Grant Grove section of Kings Canyon National Park in California and the second largest tree in the world. Eadweard James Muybridge (1830 - 1904) was an English photographer who emigrated to America and was important for his pioneering work in photographic studies of motion and in motion-picture projection. He also took many famous photographs in Yosemite Valley, and a panorama of San Francisco
