Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

The first crossing of the Brooklyn Bridge happened at roughly the halfway point of the bridge's construction, on August 25, 1876, six years after construction began. As E.F. Farrington, the bridge's master mechanic, zipped across a single wire rope, seated on what amounted to a wooden swing, tens of thousands of New Yorkers watched from docks and ferry boats. Farrington's ride hundreds of feet above the East River served a serious purpose, as it reinforced how confident the builders of the bridge were in its construction. Yet it also was a playful spectacle, and Farrington was instantly admired as something of a daredevil. His crossing from the bridge's Brooklyn anchorage to its Manhattan counterpart, on an endless rope powered by a small steam engine, took about 22 minutes.
