Description
Funerary Tablet of Horpaa, priest at Hermopolis and son of Djehutyhor. Large stone tablet inscribed for Horpaa, who bears important priestly titles associated with Thoth of Hermopolis and who was the son of Djehutyhor who also had important priestly offices at Hermopolis. The text shows a sequence of short religious phrases, some of which are extracted from the Book of Traversing Eternity. Egyptian alabaster (travertine) and paint. Ptolemaic Period, 332–30 B.C., from Egypt, Tuna el-Gebel.
