The Round Goby, or goby fish (Neogobius melanostomus). This fish is becoming increasingly common in the Great Lakes. This species is native to the Black and Caspian Seas and entered the United States from the discharge of ballast water released from transoceanic vessels. This is a highly invasive species which is quickly spreading through out fresh water streams in the Eastern United States.
