Gustave Dore by the photographer Nadar [Gaspard Felix Tournachon], taken around 1856-58 in Paris, France. Gustave Dore (1832-1883) was a French engraver, illustrator, and sculptor, who worked primarily with wood engraving. He famously illustrated works such as Milton's Paradise Lost and Dante's Divine Comedy.
