An illuminated Book of Days (from around 1510-20) showing agricultural work in the early 1500s, specifically milking and buttermaking. To the right is the zodiacal sign of Taurus. A book of days was a calendar that included information about holy days and saints' days. The text in red at top states that April has 30 days. The Workshop of the Master of James IV of Scotland. Tempera colors, gold, and ink on parchment.
