Entitled; "Dendrobium schneiderianum" taken from "Orchid album comprising colored figures and descriptions of new, rare and beautiful orchidaceous plants" by B. S. Williams, 1891 edition. Benjamin Samuel Williams (March 2, 1822 - June 24, 1890) was an English orchidologist and nurseryman in London, known mainly for his horticultural notes on orchids in publications such as The Orchid Grower's Manual (London 1871), Select Orchidaceous Plants (London 1862 onwards) and The Orchid Album (London 1882-97). Dendrobium is a huge genus of orchids. It was established by Olof Swartz in 1799 and today contains about 1,200 species. The name is from the Greek dendron (tree) and bios (life); it means "one who lives on trees", or, essentially, epiphyte. Orchidaceae is a diverse and widespread family of flowering plants with blooms that are often colorful and often fragrant, commonly known as the orchid family.
