Description
A molecular model of penicillin V, a version of the penicillin antibiotic that is taken orally to treat mild to moderate infections such as tonsillitis, pharyngitis, skin infections, early stage lyme disease, streptococcal infections, gingivitis, and dental infections. Penicillin V is more stable in the acidic environment of the stomach, and acts by inhibiting cell wall development during bacterial replication. Atoms are colored dark gray (carbon), light gray (hydrogen), red (oxygen), blue (nitrogen), and yellow (sulfur).
