Description
Typhon was a monstrous serpentine giant and one of the deadliest creatures in Greek mythology. According to Hesiod, Typhon was the son of Gaia and Tartarus. He attempted to overthrow Zeus for supremacy of the cosmos but lost after a cataclysmic battle. The harpies are his daughters. Illustration by Wenceslaus Hollar (1607-1677).
