Artist's Description

General Grant (left) and staff on Lookout Mountain, after it was taken by Union troops on November 24, 1863. Ulysses S. Grant (April 27, 1822 - July 23, 1885) was general-in-chief of the Union Army from 1864 to 1865 during the American Civil War and the 18th President of the United States from 1869 to 1877.
