Description
The Roman theater at the ancient city of Ephesus, on the west coast of Anatolia, in present-day Izmir Province, Turkey. With a seating capacity of 40,000, it was the largest outdoor theater in the ancient world, used for drama, and during Roman times for gladiator combat. Today's archaeological site lies 3 km southwest of Selcuk. The ruins are a favorite tourist attraction, with easy access from Kusadasi.
