This image was obtained from an intracranial CT angiogram. There is a small aneurysm at the bifurcation of the left (on your right, green) internal carotid artery intracranially, which is barely detectable as it is partially hidden by the A1 segment of the left (on your right) anterior cerebral artery. This technique uses the technology of spiral CT in association with a rapid bolus injection of intravenous contrast, which opacifies the blood vessels. This is a good, minimally invasive (because contrast is injected) technique to look for aneurysms, areas of stenosis (narrowing), vascular malformations and other intracranial vascular disease.
