Entitled "Mrs. Herbert L. Flint the little hypnotic sunbeam" lithograph poster created by the National Printing & Engraving Company, 1899. Herbert Longley Flint (born in 1862, touring years 1890 - 1915) was an American hypnotist and one of the best known of his era. He was born in Canada around 1862. He and his family later moved to Chicago. He began his tours as a hypnotist around 1890. His wife was billed as the only lady hypnotist in the world. She was a great attraction because of her beautiful wardrobe which many lady patrons came to the theater just to see. Most of what is known of Flint, is from his friend C.A. George Newmann who used to visit him. In 1897 Flint published "Dr. Flint's Hypnotic Routine" about his stage performance. He retired to Cleveland, Ohio, and started a mail-order course in hypnotism. In 1915, he came out of retirement and did a "Farewell Tour" throughout the Midwest and Canada under the direction of Felix Blei. Afterward, he went back to his mail-order bus...
