Artist's Description

First test launch of the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Space Launch Complex 37B on December 5, 2014 (Exploration Flight Test 1). The un-crewed capsule was launched atop a Delta IV Heavy rocket from Space Launch Complex 37B at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The successful flight lasted 4 hours 24 minutes for a total of two planned orbits before splashing down off the coast of California.
