Artist's Description

Infographic showing how climate change damages coral reefs. Algae lives under the epidermal tissue of healthy coral in a symbiotic relationship, feeding the coral and giving it vibrant color. When sea temperatures rise, corals expel the algae, causing the coral to lose its color and its nutrients, a process called ‘bleaching’. Without its food source, the coral slowly dies.
