Description
Airline contrails and winds in the upper atmosphere. Contrails (short for "condensation trails") or vapor trails are artificial clouds that are the visible trails of condensed water vapor made by the exhaust of aircraft engines. As the hot exhaust gases cool in the surrounding air, they may precipitate to form a cloud of microscopic water droplets. If the air is cold enough, this trail will comprise tiny ice crystals. As the wind blows, it distorts the straight cloud and makes it as if "hairy" in one direction. (No smoke from the chimney).
