Description
Antacid reacts with hydrochloric acid. Chewable antacid and calcium dietary supplement tablet is put in a test tube with 1M solution of hydrochloric acid. Antacid tablets contain calcium carbonate, it reacts with hydrochloric acid to produce carbon dioxide bubbles CaCO3 + HCl -> CaCl2 + H2O + CO2. This is an example of a double displacement reaction.
