Description
Color enhanced transmission electron micrograph (TEM) of Hemophilus ducrayi bacteria, the cause of chancroid, or soft sore. This sexually transmitted disease is more common tropical climates and causes ulcers on the mucous membranes of the genitals and enlarges the lymph nodes in the groin. Specific coenzymes must be present in the blood in order for Hemophilus ducrayi to cause disease. Chancroid is treated with antibiotics. SEM 10,000x at 35mm
