Description
Central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) with a cilioretinal artery. A cilioretinal artery is a very common vascular anomaly occurring in up to fifty percent of eyes. Their absence or presence is insignificant to those with a healthy retina and they can vary in number and size. However if a vascular occlusion occurs, as in this case, a cilioretinal artery can be to the patients advantage by supplying blood to the fovea and sustaining central vision.
