Description
Lead iodide precipitate. Lead (II) nitrate (Pb(NO3)2) was added to a test tube containing potassium iodide (KI). Lead (II) iodide was formed as a precipitate. The reaction is KI + Pb(NO3)2 -> PbI2 + KNO3. All solutions were 0.5M concentration. This double displacement reaction can be used as a test for presence of iodides in a solution.
