Artist's Description

Jean Baptiste Perrin was a physicist and Nobel laureate (1926). Born 1870 in Lille, France, Perrin is best known for his study of the motion of particles suspended in liquid that verified Einstein's paper on Brownian motion, and proved the existence of atoms. He also determined Avogadro's constant, which is the number of atoms or molecules in one mole.
