Honjo Tatekawa, the timberyard at Honjo, Sumida is a woodblock print by the Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai. The thirty-eigthth (second additional) print in Hokusai's series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji plus the ten additions. Shows a man sawing a large piece of wood to make boards and two men removing tiles(?) from a tall stack at a lumberyard in Honjo. Mount Fuji is a frequent subject of Japanese art especially after 1600, when Edo (Tokyo) became the capital and people saw the mountain while traveling on the Tokaido road. Mount Fuji is an active stratovolcano located near the Pacific coast of Honshu and one of Japan's "Three Holy Mountains". The ukiyo-e genre of art flourished in Japan from the 17th through 19th centuries.
