Description

Color enhanced scanning electron micrograph of tiny nanoporous crystals known as "silica arrays". These materials have a pore size of 2 to 50 nm. Silicates were the first series-produced nanoporous materials. They can be used for ultrafiltration or, correspondingly coated, as catalysts. They can also be administered as medicaments. In the future, these nanoparticles mayy be used in the fight against cancer. Magnification 5,0001 (at 15x12cm image size).
