Artist's Description

Three-dimensional visualization based on scanned human data of the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacral regions of the spine. The small lightweight vertebrae of the cervical area support the head and neck; the thoracic region behind the chest anchors the ribcage; the strong and wide lumbar vertebrae bear weight and provide stability; and the triangular sacrum strengthens and stabilizes the pelvis.
