Challenge your brain with a jigsaw puzzle designed by an independent artist!   Our puzzles are made from premium 0.2" thick paper stock and include a semi-gloss coating on the top surface to make the image pop.   Puzzles are available in two different sizes, and each puzzle includes a puzzle box with the artwork printed on the top for safe storage when you're not puzzling.   The puzzle pieces are unique shapes.

Artist's Description

Three rows of the outer hair cell's stereovilli (yellow/white) of the organ of Corti are clearly visible. The tectorial membrane, which usually is connected with the tips of the stereocilia has lifted up during preparation. Some of the inner hair cells (IHC) still have contact to the tectorial membrane. Also, the imprints of the outer hair cells on the tectorial membrane are visible. The ear of all mammals consists of the auricle with the external ear canal, the middle ear behind the eardrum with the ossicles which are connected to the "oval window" and make the transition to the fluid-filled inner ear with the cochlea and organ of balance. The organ of Corti lies in the entire length of the cochlea. Close to the oval window the hair cells of the organ of Corti are sensitive to high tones, while towards the tip of the cochlea they are sensitive to lower tones.
