Product Details

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a carbon fiber-reinforced ceramic disc brake. The raw material (composite ceramic), shown in yellow, is silicon carbide, which is very hard and abrasion-resistant. High-strength carbon fibers (blue), are embedded in it, which effectively absorb the stresses occurring in the material. A disc brake made of this composite material will last four times longer than a conventional steel brake disc. Magnification x1100 when printed 10 centimetres wide.
