Artist's Description

Darters are a group of benthic, perciform fishes that live along the bottoms of river and stream in North America. Many have small ranges and are imperiled or endangered. This is the Redline Darter (Etheostoma rufilineatum), observed in the Little River, Blount Co, TN, USA 21 June 2018.
